I am a writer from Vancouver, Canada. I’ve had the luck to work with a lot of creative people–artists, designers, architects. To me, they are a lot more important to the way we are and the way we will be than people who usually get more attention and more pay for what they do.
The republic of less is a place where you’ll find art, architecture, and design that aims to do more with less. It’s the stuff I like best and I think it’s the stuff that lasts best.
Much as I love them, there is more to life than art and design, so I’ll be posting about about other simply good things too–things to eat, things to do, things to take your mind off other things.
People, including artists and designers, who do things with simplicity and grace come from different places and times. I thought they deserved a nation of their own.
This is it.

Thanks Janet. At the R of L we often celebrate small, but not when it comes to thinking.
Your Think Big blog is a constant inspiration.
